MDCC Round 17 Completion Wrap 21/2/15 - 22/2/15

 

D6’s

Round 19 for the D6’s saw them come up against Wallsend RSL Junior Cricket Club and after losing the toss had to take to the field first for a bowl.

A slow run rate from the opposition saw our lads well on top as they were able to bowl them out for 67 runs. With Jordan Walker (3-8) & Harry Martine (3-11) being best with ball.

The run chase only needed 13.4 overs as the boys ended 1-68. Jordan Walker (35*) & Luke Stoodley (19*) being the side home.

 

D5’s

D5’s had the bye this week.

 

B5’s

Playing Cardiff RSL this week and after winning the toss we sent in the opposition into bat. Cardiff RSL where able to bat out their overs making a total of 6 for 121. With John Mundey (3-26) being best with ball.

Sadly the boys fell just short after being on track with the run rate the last wicket fell with the boys on 117 in 28.1 overs. Christopher Dunn (45) & John Mundey (23) best with bat.

 

A Grade

Merewether played Adamstown and bowled first with Chad White in the wickets again with (4-18) of ten straight overs and next best was Darren Cousins with (2-9) of 6 overs.

Chasing a tricky score of 80 runs to win the boys cruised home passing them only 2 down,top runs went to Darren Cousins (45*) and Greggy Weller (24*).

4th Grade

Unfortunately the day got washed out for 4th grade which stoped our boys pushing for outright.  The game finished with 1st innings points going to us.

 

3rd Grade

Starting the day 0 for 4 and needing 234 runs for victory saw our 3rd graders going out in bowler friendly conditions this weekend. We soon found ourselves in a difficult position being 6 for 35, the guys managed to bat out 41.5 overs before being bowled out for 123. Jake Miller (46) & Edward Dunne (32) top scorers.

The captains called it a day with no chance of outright.

 

2nd Grade

Wallsend started the day 9 for 50 before Cameron Lawes took the last wicket to finish with 5fa and no added total giving first innings points to our guys.

Still being 187 runs behind and 79 overs still in play our skipper sent Wallsend back in. A much more determined batting display was shown form the opposition who were able to save the outright from occurring batting out the day ending 6 for 168. Steven Baker (2-22) ended best bowler of the second innings.

 

1st Grade

Starting the day 0 for 9 our guys went to work chasing down 195. Unfortunately our batters could only manage a total of 166. Wallsend’s bowling won out the day with Troy Goodwin (37) and Josh Geary (27) our best batters.

 

Under 21 Round 5 Wrap 22/2/15 

Wet weather saw our 21’s match against Waratah-Mayfield washed out.
