Playing Valentine-Eleebana this week our D6’s were ready for a big fight as a spot in the semis was on the cards.
Winning the toss our boys got to bat first one of the few games they were unable to bat out the overs they still got 135 runs on the board. Darren James (30) & Blake Armson (28) being top scorers.
With runs to defend our bowlers worked hard and where able to pick up regular wickets but a late partnership for Valentine-Eleebana saw them finishing 8 for 136. Jordan Walker (2-17), Carlton Bernays (2-19) & David Stanbridge (2-33) best with ball. This meaning our D6’s season comes to an end.
Lots of highlights and lots of fight from the young fellas with the wisdom from the experienced means heads can be held high a very impressive season.
Top V Bottom this week as our D5’s played Warners Bay this weekend. Winning the toss and batting first saw our lads post a respectable 147 all out. Michael Sharp (51) & Shane Pankhurst (40) leading the side.
Warners Bay did not go away easy making our boys bowl out all 35 overs but come the end of the day the run chase was not under treat with Warners Bay finishing 4 for 107. Daniel Crossley (2-32) best with ball.

Last game of the season saw our B5’s playing top of the table Redhead. Losing the toss our lads had to bowl and Redhead scored a mammoth 3 for 230 off their 35 overs.

This saw the boys slip out of the top 4 and sadly ending their season.
The boys played Kotara and after last week’s big win needed to win big again this time to secure the minor premiership with only percentages the difference between 1st and 2nd spot. Merewether didn't disappoint and rolled Kotara for 50 runs with Luke Miller (4-17) and Chad White (3-21) doing the early damage and Alec Leddell cleaning the tail with (2-1).
The boys cruised to victory chasing the runs only 2 wickets down with Ben Woolley (26*) top score and Darren Cousins (18*).
Well done boys you have done the club proud in winning the minor premiership.
