A Grade (Managers Report) 21/11/15

Merewether won the toss and batted on a good hard wicket witch hasn't been the norm of late with the weather playing part in wicket preparation. The boys got of to a good start with opener Ben Wooley hitting the ball all over the ground with top score of 72 and good support by Brad Davies and Craig Plain both scoring 49.

Everyone else chipped in along the way to get Merewether to a big 1st innings score of 8/267.Adamstown were trying hard but the runs where just to many in the end being all out for 151.

Lyle McGuigan in his first game back for the season was the best of the bowlers with 3 wickets and the rest of the bowlers all doing their share of the load getting a couple each.

All in all it was a great team win with every one doing there bit well done boys

Starting with 4th Grade our side went out to Sports Ground No.5 for our local derby. Our skipper lost the toss and City elected to bat.

Our bowlers did a great job keeping the total down though out the day but after City managed to bat their 40 overs with a total of 9 for 149 our lads where in a very good spot.

Best with Ball: (stats to come)

However mirror image of sorts managed to see our boys finish with the exact total as city finishing 9 for 149 off 40 overs. Resulting in a unlikely draw and points getting shared.

In a weekend of a double header for our main man, Saturday saw us taking on City at Townson Oval.

Having a position in the Tom Locker Cup final on the line over the weekend and being top of Pool A, 2 strong performances would see us there.

Moorey won to toss and our lads Batted first on a good track. Runs came at a consistently from the top order before some late order fireworks picked up the total nicely, The guys managed to get a total of 7 for 240 off their 50 overs.

Best with Bat: Simon Moore (82), Mark Cameron (66*), Troy Goodwin (28) & Tim O'Neill (25)

City’s Batters started strong against our guys and had a competitive run rate in chasing this total down but our bowlers stuck to their game plan and where rewarded with wickets. After getting on top we were able to hold City to a total of 179 off 49.4 overs.

Best with Ball: Pat Darwen (4-27) & Courtney Moulton (2-29)

1st Grade 22/11/15

Sunday cricket saw Waratah-Mayfield head to our home ground. With Waratah’s skipper sending in our said it was not long until our clubs leader took the game in his hands. Continuing His great run of form Simon was able to bat out the innings from start to close and bring up his 3rd century for the season so far and was supported strongly from Pat Darwen. The two put together a great partnership and steared the side to a total of 2 for 296 off 50 overs.
