D4’s 5/12/15

Loss due to forfeit.

A Grade (Managers Report) 28/11/15

Not much to say about this one! Merewether lost the toss and Tech decided to bat first on a good wicket.

Everything was going to plan with the boys rolling Tech for 72 and Lyle McGuigan in his second game back taking 8/29.

Maybe the boys were over confident or maybe Tech just bowled too good but Merewether were rolled for just 42! young Rohan Davis top scored with 15 no ,other than that the score card looked very disappointing .

But as they say one bad game doesn't make a season and we will cop our first loss of the season on the chin and worry about next game.

A Grade (Managers Report) 5/12/15

The boys played Journeyman and lost the toss as usual with Journeyman choosing to bat first.

After some dropped catches but consistent bowling Journeyman scraped 111 runs on a fast out field and solid deck.

Adam Britt was best of the bowlers with 5/33.

Keen to get last weeks poor batting display out of the boys minds we started strong with most of the top order getting a start and getting the runs wickets 3 down.

Brad Davies top scored with 71no.

4th Grade

Day 1: 28/11/15

4th grade travelled to Wallsend No.2 Oval this round for their match against the Tigers.

Our Skip lost the toss and the boys had to bowl. A big day out in the field saw a huge effort from the guys and where able to bowl Wallsend out for 186 in 59.2 overs.

Best with Ball: Dave Stanbridge (3-28), Mark Cousin (3-35) & Jackson Rush (2-40)

10 overs where left in the day and our openers made sure all wickets stayed in tact for the following week as we finished 0 for 35.

Best with bat: Darren Linsley (16*) & Luke Stoodley (11*).

Day 2: 5/12/15

Needing another 152 runs to get the win, our batters lead by Luke Stoodley where able to work in partnerships and ease their way to the total and finished 4 for 192 after another 45 overs where bowled by Wallsend.

Best with Bat: Luke Stoodley (93) & Jordan Walker (26).

3rd Grade

Day 1: 28/11/15

Our 3rd Grade skipper started the day with the first win, winning the toss he elected to bat first.

The day went very well for our lads as it was a day starts where made from number 1 right down to number 11.

With the 2nd, 5th and 10th wicket partnerships all scoring over 50 runs the guys finished all out for 271off 66.5 overs.

Best with Bat: Jake Miller (46), Brad Bannister (45), Ryan Mitchison (36), Tom Henshaw (33*), Dayrl Daniels (31) & Nick Leahy (29).

Having only 3 overs left in the day our guys went out and where able to pick up 1 wicket to place them in a strong position for next week. Wallsend finished 1 for 4.

Best with Ball: Jake Miller (1-?)

Day 2: 5/12/15

Our guys had done a great job in the past week and gave the Wallsend 3rd grade batters a difficult job to chase down 272 for the win. Wallsend managed to bat for an extra 51 overs this week but never troubled the total and finished 10 for 181.

Best with Ball:  Tom McKendry (3-61), Daryl Daniels (2-12), Jake Miller (2-16) & Tom Henshaw (2-23).

2nd Grade

Day 1: 28/11/15

2nd Grade also hit the road to play Wallsend away. And after winning the toss our skipper made the choice to back his bowlers and send in the home side.

The skipper was soon justified as the boys were able to bowl out Wallsend in 5o overs for a total of 166.

Best with Ball: Mitch Morgan (5-58), Chad Mayo (2-23).

After 30 overs with the bat the game still sits on edge as our boys finished 4 for 81. Setting up an interesting game to watch out for next week.

Best with Bat: Carl Bolte (32) & Trent Bush (31)

Day 2: 5/12/15

Day 2 got off to a great start and with our 2 not out batters setting up the day they managed to get passed the required total with no loss of wicket. We continued to bat on and make a small lead before a declaration was called by our skipper finishing the innings 6 for 223.

Best with Bat: Daniel Andrews (50), Mitch Morgan (34) & Chad Mayo (26).

Best with Ball: Jono Dunn (2-15) & Trent Bush (2-57).

1st Grade

Day 1: 28/11/15

Day 1 saw the visiting skipper win the toss and elect to bat. It turned out to be one of our longer days out in the field but our bowlers did well and with the back up from the fielders the run rate was able to be contained as Wallsend finished 10 for 172.

Best with Ball: Pat Darwen (4-31) & Sam Palmer (4-31)

Our batters had 18 overs to face and managed to make close of play ending 1 for 56

Best with bat: Simon Moore (20*)

Day 2: 5/12/15

Start of the day saw a couple of early wickets but a couple of good partnerships saw our side get to a total 5 for 177 before a declaration was called with 45 overs in the day.

Best with Bat: Ben Egan (58), Troy Goodwin (54) & Simon Moore (28).

Play was called after another 35 overs had been bowled and Wallsend managed to get to a total of 3 for 112 and captains decided no chance of outright seemed possible.

Best with Ball: Josh Geary (2-23)

Under 21 Competition Pool A Round 3 - Sun 29 Nov 2015

Our under 21s travelled out to Toronto to play on Sunday. And after losing the toss had to field first.

Toronto’s Batters mad sure it was a long day out in the field before it would come our chance to bat but our young side did well to keep Toronto to a total of 8 for 213 off their 50 overs.

Best with Ball: Dylan Stuart (4-42) & Mitch Piller (2-31)

It was not our best run chase as our top order where reduced to 3 for 30 before our young skipper showed a bit of form but unfortunately the run chase was to much as we finished 10 for 108 off 35.1 overs

Best with Bat: Chad Mayo (42)

McDonalds Country Cup Round 3 - Sun 29 Nov 2015

Round 3 saw Lisarow come to Townson Oval and the visiting captain won the toss and elected to bat.

Our bowlers worked away and managed to bowl out Lisarow for 143 runs.

Best with Ball: Isasc Hillery (3-29), Courtney Moulton (3-42) & Josh Geary (2-26).

A few early wickets saw us on the back foot and with a few partnerships the run chase stayed on track. Unfortunately the run rate managed to rise as further wickets fell. And our team fell short of the target finishing 10 for 130.

Best with Bat: Josh Geary (63).

Under 21 Competition Pool A Round 4 - Sun 6 Dec 2015

The Under 21’s travelled to Passmore Oval to play Hamilton-Wickham. Hamilton’s skipper won the toss and elected to bat.

Our bowlers worked away with little reward and a total of 2 for 299 was put in the book for our guys to chase.

Best with Ball: Nathan Stoodley (1-40) & Tom Henshaw (1-56)

The fight was taken to Ham-Wicks as our batters kept with the run rate for a good period of the run chase but could not keep up with it. We manage to bat out our 50 overs finishing 9 for 194.

Best with Bat: Chad Mayo (44), Jake Miller (42) & Rory Kalnins (36*)
