T/20 Vs Belmont - 31/1/16
Under 15’s
Today was our Old Boys & Sponsors Day at Townson Oval and our Under 15's got to kick off the day against Belmont. Joining with the Kotara Tigers many seasons ago now has proved a fruitful one with the juniors now spreading through out our District and C&S sides and todays side showed there is much more talent on the rise.
Bowling first our Under 15 side did well bowling out the Belmont side in 19.3 overs and holding Belmont to a total of 10 for 103.
Best with Ball: Cormac McHenry (2-17), Joseph Barnett (1-6), Jacklin Andrews (1-6), Harrison Wright (1-9), Zane Leathley (1-12), Oscar Shearman (1-14), Rory Kalnins (1-16)
The run chase was a cracking one as our boys chipped away at Belmont's total. 2 early wickets saw our boys in early trouble before a 54 run 3rd wicket partnership from Skipper Rohan Davis & Rory Kalnins saw the chase settle. Unselfish batting coupled with losing a few runs outs pushing for extra runs saw the game go down to the last ball of the match needing 3 runs to win Joseph Barnett on strike managed to hit a 4 ending the match in entertaining style.
Best with Bat: Rory Kalnins (33) & Rohan Davis (29)
Denis Broad OAM Cup
Our DB side got underway after winning the toss and batting first. 2 early wickets saw our side consolidate with a 90 run 3rd wicket partnership between Scott Montgomery & Carl Bolte. the last 5 overs of our innings saw 50 runs put on and a competitive total of 4 for 135 was reached.

Our bowlers did not start so well with Belmont racing ahead in the early stages of their chase being 0 for 63 after 6 overs. The next over saw our Skipper take the ball and take 2 wickets in a over which halted Belmont's run rate. The bowling was much better in the middle and later stages and the game got down to the last over with Belmont needing 3 runs to win which they achieved finishing 4 for 139.
Best with Ball: Brad Bannister (2-13) & Jake Miller (1-23).
On another day the game could of gone our way but Belmont out played us today.

Last game of the day saw the first grade sides take to the field and after wining the toss we batted first. a steady opening partnership of 67 saw us in a very strong position ready to go big in the middle to later overs. Belmont's bowling finished well and after some tight bowling we finished with a total of 4 for 146.
Best with Bat: Pat Darwen (45*), Josh Geary (36) & Simon Moore (33)
An 89 run 2nd wicket partnership saw Belmont in a strong position in their run chase but after that was broken the game was back in anyones favor. Some big hitting from Belmont however took the game away from us as they finished 5 for 147.
Best with Ball: Josh Geary (2-28) Dave Celeb (1-16) & Pat Darwen (1-36).
